Douglas Laboratories Fiber-Plex supports the gastrointestinal tract by providing both insoluble and soluble fiber. Insoluble fiber like cellulose and many hemicelluloses are not fermented efficiently in the colon. They provide fecal bulk, bind water, and help soften the stool. Soluble dietary fiber like pectin, some hemicelluloses, and many gums ferment in the colon in varying degrees. This lowers the pH and short chain fatty acids that is important for mucosal cell health and intestinal micorflora.Recommended use: Take 3 capsules with at least 8 ounces of water twice daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional. The capsules may also be pulled apart, if desired, and the contents stirred into 8 ounces of water or juice.
