What's the difference between USPS and UPS ground?
USPS (US Postal Service) and UPS (United Parcel Service) are different in price and speed. USPS ships and delivers 6 days per week instead of just 5 days per week for UPS. We charge only $1.00 for USPS ground but for UPS we pass on to you the total charge that we incur (usually $8.00 or more to start).
If you request ground and your package weighs 13 ounces or less we will ship First Class Mail with expected delivery of about 5 days or less to most continental US locations. If your package weight more than 13 ounces, we will ship Priority if you have chosen ground or priority mail for shipping.
If you have chosen UPS, we will charge you what they charge us and it will be a lot more than USPS. UPS does have a better tracking system but that's about it.
Both systems have been reliable with maybe a slight edge going to UPS. We have shipped thousand of packages USPS and have seen about 3 screw-ups on their part. I think the price difference still makes USPS a better deal in most cases.
