Thorne Selenium (Formerly Selenomethionine) supports the thyroid, heart, and cell development. Selenium is an antioxidant mineral cofactor for the body's natural antioxidant systems SOD and glutathione. Selenium is an important trace mineral, and is one of its well-absorbed forms. It exerts positive effects on normal cell function, development. It is also necessary for conversion of the thyroid hormone T4 (thyroxine) to the active T3 form (triiodothyronine). Maintaining normal serum selenium levels is associated with support for normal cell function and differentiation, as well as healthy heart, connective tissue, eye, liver, and thyroid function.
