Is this product necessary to kill SIBO? Or Can the same results be achieved by just drinking water?
1 Answer
Yes it is for killing the bacteria. Drinking just water for 3 weeks is not advisable and may not kill the bacteria.

Does this do anything to help eliminate SIBO or is this just to help satiate you during your cleanse?
1 Answer
The product is designed to starve the bacterial overgrowth and feed the body. You should drink only this for all your meals for two to three weeks.
If you have any questions about the diet feel free to contact me at 877-465-0844.

My question is do people have a bowl movement when using this product
1 Answer
Bowel movements can slow down because you are not eating any solid foods. You can use a little bit of magnesium at night to help move your bowels. I recommend taking 250-500 mg. before bed on an empty stomach.

Hi - I'm 165 pds and 6 ft. (lost a lot of weight was 195 year ago due to SIBO). How many bags of 35g powder would I use daily to get nutrition needs? thank you!
1 Answer
You need at least 1800 calories a day. Each scoop is 150 calories. That would be 12 servings a day. The large bag is good for three days. Call us for more complete directions on how to use. 877-465-0844

This has iron in it, and I am a carrier for hemachromatosis. Not getting phlebotamy except when blood tests ordered for other things. My iron numbers were higher than normal once a long time ago which is why doc ordered the iron and genetic tests. So I don't know how seriously to take the issue of Iron in this elemental diet.
1 Answer
Since you are only on the diet for three weeks you should be able to lower iron once off. You can also take IP-6 upon finishing which will assist with iron removal.

My Dr.asked me to look this up, though I can't have sugar so it would be the dextrose free. She said to ask if there's any way to get a sample size as I have mast cell activation syndrome, cannot get enough nutrition and am allergic to so many things. Can you help me with this?

I'm sorry we do not have samples. We do have a money back guarantee if a product doesn't work for you. Although shipping it back to us is your responsibility.

This may be coming up in my next protocol for SIBO. Would it make sense to add a fat, like coconut oil or other, due to tendencies toward low-blood sugar (as yeast is an issue, there will be natural antifungals added). Thank you for your time.
1 Answer
This product is meant to sustain you and balance blood sugar. If you take the right amount you should be drinking 1800 calories a day throughout the day.If you add anything I would add MCT oil. Coconut oil on its own will not help fight the infection but once the medium chain triglycerides are broken down by enzymes from the pancreas they pack act as a antimicrobial agent. You really don't need any extra antifungals.

I'm taking thyroid medication twice a day with the Elemental Diet. Usually I plan to take it 2 hours after and 1 hour before food. Can I shorten that time with the Elemental Diet since I would imagine it's absorbed more quickly than food? It would make sipping the drink easier to schedule.
1 Answer
I think you can safely shorten those times especially the before food. You just need to give it a head start. You should careful notes about how you feel with any changes as your thyroid will often have ways of talking to you with various symptoms.

Reducing SIBO Levels
I've used this elemental diet twice now, the first time was for a 3 week period, and the second only for 14 days.

I will say that I personally seemed to feel the most positive effects from the three week period. 21 days is a long time to be exclusively eating this stuff, but the relief I felt afterwards was well worth it. Once you figure out how much water to mix it with (based on your personal preference) it is not bad at all! Tastes oddly like...vanilla cake water (or something of the sort). I personally would mix a little salt into mine, which I feel not only helped to enhance the flavor a little but also for added electrolytes.

If you have SIBO and need to reduce to reduce your levels, I highly recommend it. I honestly believe that the 3 weeks on this actually cleared my SIBO entirely (but unfortunately, not knowing my 'root cause of it' it made a come back some time afterwards).

This stuff really helps!
ProsReduces SIBO Bacteria levels significantly Helps your intestinal lining integrity
ConsProbably not the only thing you WANT to be consuming for 14-21 days

Working well so far
I'm on day 5 of 14 and although I can't say the taste is bad, it becomes pretty gross after that's all you've been drinking for 5 days. If I drink enough, I'm not hungry at all. I'm actually just plugging my nose to get it down and that seems to be helping me get through the taste. So far is it working well for SIBO. Shipping has been fast. Overall, good product, just gotta be mentally prepared for an elemental diet.
ProsNot hungry when drinking enough
ConsGet weary of the taste

It worked incredibly well
I used it under doctor’s monitoring and it worked better than I ever imagined. I truly had no cravings for food, it has a sweet vanilla taste. It did the job for me and felt much better after taking it as prescribed. I started with a no dairy, no bread, no legumes for 6 weeks, then I did the Physicians’ Elemental Diet for 2 weeks, I never felt better, lost over 20 pounds and doing well. I was 200lbs and was taking it 5 times a day, I drank water and chewed sugar free gum to curb any food cravings.
ProsEasy to prepare Easy to pack for the day (fill shakers with a scoop full for work, and just add water) Sweet tasting

Fighting SIBO and leaky gut
I used the Elemental Diet exclusively for 2 weeks and then added a solid food dinner for 2 more weeks with the Elemental Diet filling in for breakfast and lunch. In retrospect I should probably have had a biofilm disruptor during this time as well to really kill off the SIBO. But it was good to give the gut a break and a couple of months later I did have a clear SIBO test.

The Elemental Diet is quite palatable. One bag lasted me just over 3 days when I was exclusively on the diet. I'd do it again if needed and I'd order from OVitaminPro. They were great to work with.

Worked for My SIBO
This works really well to get rid of SIBO symptoms. I don't like the taste but it's not unbearable and I will do anything to get rid of the SIBO bloat. I never felt hungry if I was using enough of the powder spaced throughout the day.
ProsWorked! No bad symptoms.
ConsTaste (but not unbearable)

Good tasting supplement
I am being treated for leaky gut and this has been one of the few supplements that I can use that doesn't create inflammation. I mix with water and it has a nice vanilla taste. If this is all you eat you will lose weight due to the low calorie count. I personally could lose a few pounds so I counted on that.

My thought is, you don't drink it because you like it, you drink it because it's good for you. However, I just couldn't handle the taste. I was warned that this was bitter. However, no matter what I did to try to improve the taste, it just didn't work. Bitter was an understatement. Now, everyone has different taste buds, so you might want to give it a try. The staff at Ovitaminpro was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to return this for store credit, even though it was opened.
Merchant Response:This product is meant to be taken over a period of days in water only therefore the taste is something that cannot be fixed. It is a medical food so should be taken under the care of your physician. It is designed to help with SIBO. You should take it for 3 to 7 days and no longer. You are fasting while you are taking this so the supplement is your only caloric intake. You should take enough to have at least 1200 calories a day.
