Supplements for Moderate Drinker
Let’s say for a moment that you are up on the latest research that indicates that there is no safe level of alcohol consumption and you are not one of those few people that are going to take heed and just quit or cut WAY back.
Knowing human nature it will take more than just some news stories about the research to stop something dangerous. Most will need a personal health scare to give up something as ingrained in most cultures as alcohol. Of course, every person has their own reason to drink and their own reason or reasons to stop.
So you are likely to keep drinking at some level or you live with someone who isn’t so good at giving it up. What can you do?
A few key supplements might help your body fight off or at least delay, the negative effects. For example, I know a guy who has been on a lot of pain meds for the last few years. Liver and kidney markers in routine blood tests keep coming back in normal range due to the religious application of helpful supplements.
Some researchers recommend 8 different supplements and I would add a couple more. To keep it simple I will list what I think are some good options.
My personal choice for my basic B vitamin needs.
To help with zinc, D3 and K2 needs:
Neurobiologix Maximum Vitamin D3 + K2
Most everyone will benefit from omega 3 fatty acids
Nordic Naturals ProOmega 120sg Lemon
One item left of most lists is NAC. N-Acetyl Cysteine has its own health benefits but is also a source of cysteine to make glutathione (your body’s super detox agent).
As long as you are picking up some BetterGenix NAC, get some LiverGenix too. As the name implies, LiverGenix is formulated to give your liver important support supplements.
You can also benefit from vitamin E, magnesium and selenium.
I have added links to what should be the most important to help your liver handle the alcohol, whether it is a couple of drinks a week or whatever.
