Supplements We Take
Some Questions About Ray Kurzwell's Supplement Program
I recently read an article about the supplement program of futurist Ray Kurzweil. He is unapologetic about taking handfuls of supplements and asks what you are doing to protect your own health? I agree with many of Mr. Kurzweil's choices but would make a few changes. He should change out the folic acid for folate. Metformin is probably safe and may have some longevity benefits but I wonder if his blood sugar could be better controlled with intermittent fasting and blood sugar targeted supplements. I also wonder about taking aspirin as nattokinase is usually a better option. We think most people don't need intravenous glutathione if they keep up their NAC, ALA and maybe some liposomal glutathione.
Our Thinking About Supplements
I figured I would make our own list of what we take in our household and why. I should point out that we have bought more than $21,000 in supplements from our own supplement store over the last two years. I guess that puts us in the category of true believers, that is we practice what we preach when it comes to taking supplements. Also over the last 6 or 7 years, we have tried about 150 supplements ourselves.
Many of the supplements we choose are from paying attention to our own bodies and also from lab testing. Different types of tests can be a great guide to help you decide what physiological help you might need. I, Dr. Dan, also practice intermittent fasting. My fasting varies between 13 and 15 hours a day depending on my schedule and will power. I get in at least 14 hours most days. I do this because it has normalizing effects on my HbA1C, fasting blood sugar, SGOT, SGPT (liver enzymes) and total cholesterol. These were always difficult to get in to normal range with any type of supplement. I keep up my fish oil as it has had dramatic effects on my telomeres.
This List Is Dynamic
Let's get to the actual list. I will list the product and brand. You can search at OVitaminPro.com for any of these products. The list a somewhat dynamic as we learn more about what our bodies need and as we sometimes change brands for various reasons.
I am sometimes asked which ones are the most important. Again that list is somewhat dynamic but a few things I think are essential for us. I wouldn't want to go without serotonin support, nitric oxide support or glutathione support. Lutein and zeaxanthin in Healthy Eyes keeps my macular degeneration at bay. Percepta helps keep my brain free of tangles to avoid dementia. I am glad I don't have to decide which of these to leave behind as they all make a contribution.

Mary, the other half of OVitaminPro, would add a few things to her regimen like some Bezwecken hormone support products, some thyroid support supplements and meds as well. The thyroid products vary as the thyroid function is a bit of a moving target. She was off all medication for about 40+ years managing all with supplements and energy work.
That covers about 80-90% of things we take on a regular basis to help keep our health going. Not everyone will open all these bottles and take them on a regular basis so we have come up with a plan for those who can open one packet and take it daily. Look for BetterGenix Daily Wellness Packets.
