I expected this to taste terrible so was pleasantly surprised. It's not the tastiest, but not the worst either. After a few days, I actually kind of started liking it. And, most importantly, it helped my SIBO quite a bit. Note, I'm reviewing the dextrose free formula. I really didn't care for the regular formula -- far too sweet. I returned it. And a shout out to Oviatmin for taking unused portion back and giving me a store credit. Customer service here is awesome so I wouldn't buy this anywhere else!

This Elemental Diet Dextrose Free was recommended to me by my doctor. I have SIBO and histamine intolerance and I'm on a very strict diet to relieve symptoms. This is giving me the peace of mind that I get my nutrients in. It doesn't taste bad at all, it has sort of a vanilla taste to it. The dextrose free is plenty sweet. You can make it with ice or even blend it into a shake - it tastes much better cold in my opinion.
Delivery is always fast, never had any issues.

The previous formulation was more tolerable for my condition (SIBO). I have since learned that the formula was changed to incorporate a higher quality oil, the taste, texture and tolerability, for me, has waned.

This is the first thing I've tried besides a water fast, (and I've tried diets, herbal antimicrobials etc etc), that has helped with my distention and discomfort. I felt relief within a few days. It took me about 4 days to get used to the taste however. I have the dextrose free formula and still found it too sweet and could barely drink enough calories at the start. I'm used to it now and don't mind it at all anymore. I find it much more palatable cold. I haven't tried the other formula, but can't imagine anything sweeter than the dextrose free one. I'd try the dextrose free one first if you don't have any known reactions to the ingredients.

This is the only type of shake that my body has been able to tolerate. I prefer the older formula in regard to taste, but its still pretty delicious and easy to digest.

Did this for 21 days with antibiotics and finally got rid of my bloating! Was worth every penny.

I have a intolerance to dextrose and it has been very hard to find a easy to digest formula. The Physicians Elemental dextrose free formula filled that need! The flavor reminds me a little bit like vanilla ice cream. At first it may taste a little off but you quickly get used to it, I have tasted much worse formulas. Only cons is per serving it is very expensive and insurance doesn't cover it. It at times has a gritty texture even after shaking well. I found if you mix it put in fridge for a little bit it is more smooth. And using water that is nice and cold made it taste better.

I had a partial cecectomy to remove two precancerous polyps, and no amount of pain killers could relieve the pain without causing constipation, nor could any kind of supplement help my intestines heal faster...until my ND sold me this. Within an hour or two the pain went away and my body was finally able to start healing. I went from taking 15 mg of Oxycodone every 3 hours to not needing it at all. Just be sure you take the higher recommended amount of water per serving of powder if it starts to cause mild discomfort and it will stop, as it is absorbed so rapidly by the intestines, that they will quite literally twist. The extra water slows down the absorption just enough to prevent the twisting, thus relieving any discomfort. I did not experience it the first time I used it, but a month later it did cause mild discomfort and the extra 2 oz of water per serving relieved the discomfort.

This product has really helped me during my Mast Cell flares. It’s a go to for the essential nutrients and the calories when my diet becomes challenging because of my disease. Easy to order and it actually tastes good.

Great option when all else fails if you have difficulty eating any foods without reacting. Very easy to digest and keeps the body going. After 2 weeks on the formula I was able to eat solid food again without the same reactions as before.

This stuff is the real deal if your digestive system needs a break!

I stayed on this diet for 3 weeks and it worked to end my SIBO; however, towards the end, I could barely get this down anymore. People who say it tastes great, good for you! I simply cannot even smell the stuff anymore without having a totally bad feeling of dread. Granted, I have never tried any other form of elemental diet, so it probably is the best tasting, but oh how it wears on you when it’s the only thing keeping you alive. I went on the low FODMAP diet for around 6 months after completing the elemental diet and the SIBO stayed away. But cooking without garlic and onions, to me, seems unrealistic, so I gradually started incorporating FODMAP foods back into my diet. And, well, the SIBO came back. I have slow motility with digestion so maybe that’s why. Everyone’s issue is different with SIBO. Don’t expect to be cured forever after enduring this protocol. I wasn’t sure about ordering this product from a different site than I normally do but I was very pleased with my experience.
I’m so thankful for this product. Do to mold and Lyme my body has been struggling to digest food on my already very restrictive diet and I just wasn’t absorbing what I should. This product has been a God send and I’m so thankful my doctor knew about it.

When I use this I feel energy. I also do not eat too much. Before I would eat more than my digestion could handle because my body knew it did not have all it needed.

I used this while recovering from jaw surgery. I was in a liquid diet and I started out eating mostly soups and smoothies, but quickly realized that my gut didn’t like the change in my diet. I even broke out in hives after drinking a smoothie, but couldn’t identify which ingredient I was allergic to. I knew I needed to give my gut a rest, while still getting adequate nutrients and calories. I used this exclusively for 2 weeks. I believe I also may have had SIBO anyway. My gut issues were relieved and I felt so much better. I’m still using this to supplement my diet, as I am able to chew more foods and eat more and more solids. The taste is not bad at all. I’ve gotten used to it and actually look forward to it.

This product is the way to go if you have SIBO and difficulties eating. Easy to mix and easy on the stomach.

I have had methane-dominant SIBO for years and I normally have 1 scoop of this drink mix mixed with 2 cups of water and ice for breakfast. It helps me maintain regular bowel movements.

This vitamin/mineral , amino acid powder does Not contain any common allergens, sweeteners. While it is expensive, it is unique; and worthy of a try, by customers like me, who can't tolerate most sweeteners. Good powder for people with Irritable bowel syndrome or candida.
